We learn from America’s finest every day. We’re proud to call a great number of veterans part of the Gracedale family. Their sacrifice, sense of duty and honor, and their respect for the greater good of their community has shaped and informed the culture here in countless ways.
This Veterans Day, we’re taking every opportunity to honor the service, sacrifices and stories of veterans. Here are a few of the special recognitions and events we have planned.
Veteran Recognition Ceremony
We’re hosting a special ceremony to honor our veteran residents. These ceremonies provide a moment of reflection and gratitude in recognition of the time they’ve spent protecting our freedoms – and the bravery it took to do it. If you’re looking for a great way to honor veterans on November 11, be sure to join us!
Storytelling Sessions and Service Displays
Veterans have lived history, and naturally, they carry a wide range of powerful stories. We’re hosting storytelling sessions where veterans can share their memories with fellow residents, staff, and loved ones.
Want to attend our storytelling sessions? Keep an eye on the Gracedale Events schedule.
In addition, Gracedale is preparing special displays for November that showcase each veteran’s service with memorabilia and memories.
Volunteer at Gracedale and Connect With Veterans this Month
We’re proud to extend our Veterans Day activities beyond the Gracedale campus. For example, we’re partnering with local veterans’ organizations to provide care packages to heroes who are currently serving. We also prepare thank-you cards for veterans in our community.
These small acts of kindness go a long way in showing appreciation, and we’d love it if you joined us! If you’d like to get involved, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Jennie Repsher, and learn how you can help make this Veterans Day even more meaningful.
