Our Short Term Rehabilitation Unit offers both private and semi-private rooms, along with a streamlined admission process. All rooms are equipped with televisions and an occupational, speech and physical therapy gym is located directly on the unit. At Gracedale, our short term rehab unit is designed to get our residents back on their feet and safely back home in a timely manner. Our rehab program consists of physical, occupational, and speech therapists experienced in working with a broad range of clinical needs. Through personalized rehab plans our care team customizes each residentās goals while working together to achieve those goals.

Whether in the hospital for three days or two weeks, any time weāre off our feet our bodies lose strength and muscle causing us to become deconditioned. From pneumonia and surgery recovery hip fractures and beyond, our team will plan and work with you in your effort to regainĀ your previous level of function and safely return to the community.
Your experience will vary depending on the services you require. The goals of your recovery will dictate the activities you participate in daily. Physical therapy and occupational therapy is done on the unit for the convenience of our residents. The unit is staffed with nurses and aides all day, every day to meet the needs of our residents during recovery.
Our short-term rehabilitation unit is tailored to the needs of our short-term residents. All rooms are either private or semi-private and are fully furnished. You will be able to wear your own clothes. Gracedale also offers Wi-Fi if you would like to bring in a laptop or tablet.
Gracedale participates with Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurances, Department of Veterans Affairs coverage, workers compensation, and automobile accident claims. Our admissionsĀ department can answer any questions you have regarding insurance coverage.
Out of pocket expenses vary based on insurance, level of coverage, and Medicaid eligibility. While we are here to assist all our residents we also encourage everyone to contact their insurance provider for an understanding of their coverage and benefits.
Every residentās progress and outcomes are unique. Gracedale and our physicians want to ensure everyone is given an opportunity to reach their rehabilitation goals. Factors influencing how long insurance covers your rehab stay include: level of participation, previous level of function, and progress toward goals. Our average short-term stay is about four to six weeks.
